EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK - NEPAL

An epic adventure of empowerment and self-discovery to Mount Everest Base Camp (5,380m/17,600ft)

  • 10 - 24 May 2025

Hello and welcome! It is our belief that all of us are ultimately looking for the same thing - a life of purpose filled with a deep sense of love, connection and belonging. The question is how do we cultivate such a state of being? Our intention for this adventure is to help you find the answer and discover so much more about yourself in the process. We have been profoundly moved by the majestic mountains of the Himalayas and the ancient Sherpa culture of the Khumbu region. The challenge of this demanding trek provides the perfect setting for a journey of self-discovery into the very heart of who we are and why we are here. It would be our pleasure and a great privilege to take you with us on this epic adventure into the great unknown

TRIP OVERVIEW

Everest Base Camp Trek is an epic journey to the base of the world’s highest mountain Mt. Everest. The locals call her Chomolungma, the Mother Goddess of the World. You will share your journey with a group of fellow adventurers, local Sherpas and of course the countless yaks, horses, donkeys and cows. We will hike all the way north up to EBC, basking in the beauty of the Himalayas, exploring the inner landscape of your mind, and making lifelong friends and memories along the way. Our intention is to take you on an empowering journey of self discovery to the top of the world with daily guided meditations, journaling and introspective talks. There will be opportunities for a cultural immersion during acclimatization days and a very special visit to an ancient Tengboche Monastery (3,870m/12,700ft) for a group meditation. Everest Base Camp Trek takes us to the backyard of the world famous Sherpas, Namche Bazaar, the Sagarmatha National Park, the mightiest viewpoint of Kalapatthar and the Everest Base Camp itself. We will come face to face with four of the world's six tallest peaks: Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, and Cho-Oyu. Our English-speaking guides will help us understand the mountains, forests, rivers, pious monasteries and gain insight into the lifestyle and culture of the Sherpa people that is rooted in Tibetan Buddhism. Our stay at local teahouses and the use of local guides and porters will directly support the local economy. Although non-technical, hiking along the countless series of uphill and downhill treks up to Mt. Everest Base Camp, is comparatively easy for physically fit slow and steady climbers.  Age and physical fitness is a factor, but if you have the courage and determination, everything comes within your reach.

No prior meditation experience is necessary. We look forward to serving as your guides on this journey of exploration of the inner landscape of your mind.

ACCOMMODATION

On the first and the last day, we will be accommodated at Milestone Hotel in Thamel, Kathmandu. During the trek we will stay at various lodges and teahouses. It's important to understand that accomodation on the trek is very basic. Big part of this journey is about letting go of familiar comforts and embracing the beauty of simplicity. All accommodations are on twin-shared basis. Single option may be possible on request and will cost an additional fee. Please note that single rooms may be available in Kathmandu and the trekking regions up to Namche Bazaar, but not at higher altitudes. Please note that teahouses only have shared washing and toilet facilities.

MEALS

There will be a welcome and farewell dinner in Kathmandu. During our trek, we will be served authentic Nepalese food as well as the more common international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc.). It's important to set the right expectation and understand that meals and ingredients on the trek, especially at higher altitudes, are very simple and basic. Breakfast and dinner will be served at the teahouse or from a lodge menu where we spend the night, whereas lunch will be served on the way to the next destination.

PHYSICAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Mount Everest Base Camp Trek is a moderate trek suitable for trekkers who have the ability to walk up to 8 hours a day with a light rucksack. Walking in higher altitudes is more physically demanding than walking in lower altitudes.  With good physical fitness, a positive attitude and strong determination, most people can accomplish the trek successfully. Exercising and jogging regularly in the months leading up to the trek is important to build up your strength, endurance and cardiovascular fitness. Past hiking experience is helpful, but no technical skill is required for this trek. We recommend that you consult your doctor before the trip. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood pressure conditions will be required to provide an assessment from a medical professional.

TREKKING TEAM

Our trekking team will be accompanied by 1 lead guide, 3-5 assistant guides, and a group of Sherpa porters for carrying luggage (1 porter for every 2 trekkers). This guarantees that the trip can proceed as planned, even if a group member(s) experience altitude sickness, fall ill or have an injury as they would need to be accompanied and taken to a lower altitude.
